The Sicilians take their leisure time seriously, quality time for them is a lifestyle not an occasional pursuit. Weekends are cherished and largely spent meeting up with friends and family.
They prefer social gatherings and lunches can last through until dinner starts!
There is a growing range of available leisure activities;

Golf
There are only two 18 hole courses in Sicily, but more are planned.

Calcio (Football)
The national sport, seen played on every scale.

Tennis
This is a very popular sport.

Walking
Sicily has tremendous opportunity to explore with any level of walking available.

Horse riding
Epic scenery can be truly discovered on any timescale.

Cycling
Whether your desire is an all downhill descent on the roads around etna or a more demanding mountain range journey, Sicily provides all levels to riders.

Motor sports
Not including everyday driving!
International motorsport events descend on Sicily. Vintage car rallies, quad biking and go-karting are available.

Shopping
The seriousness of this is illustrated by the fact there is two words for it, ‘spesa’ for groceries and ‘shopping’ for non-essentials.
Boutiques and artisan crafts display some of the skills passed down from generation to generation. Even the smaller towns like to have high quality offerings.
There are mall type multi outlet centres where you can buy everything in one stop if you wish.

Water Sports
At all the main beach resorts like Fondachello, Mazzaro, Letojani, Cefalu, there are organised water sports activities such as water skiing, wind surfing, jet skiing and sailing.

Swimming
The sea around Sicily is not tidal. The sea is clear and easy to swim in. The Sicilians love to swim and often will venture out to rocks. In the summer under the hot sun, the cool refreshing sea is a welcome relief
