Ortygia
Ortygia
UNESCO registered.
Left behind as modern Sicily rebuilt itself after the second world war in the period known as the ecnomic miracle, due to its isolated position as an island. It is unspolit and offers a view into tradtional life that has been largely lost elsewhere.
Pictureseque narrow streets which lead a confusing path which constantly offers new discoveries.
Ortygia is located at the eastern end of Syracuse and is separated from it by a narrow channel.
