Viewing Trips
A viewing trip would take place after we have initially consulted with you and hopefully been able to narrow your search down to a specific type of property and or area.
We charge €150 (£100) per day for viewing trips; this is fully refunded if you subsequently purchase a property through us. This makes sure we do not waste the time of the property sellers and other parties we work with.
We will drive you or you are welcome to drive and we will view the properties, allowing you ask any questions, explore the property on your own and see what you think of the surrounding area.
Some practical notes for viewing trips;
Sicily is a bigger island than people who have not visited before might appreciate and travelling times, particularly in peak traffic hours can be more than first thought, so we endeavour to make sure the itinerary is achievable.
We will discuss your desires, whether to push for concentrated ‘English’ schedule or a more relaxed Sicilian approach.
Depending on whether we need a third party in attendance, there might be limitation on the viewing hours: lunch is religiously observed and people generally are more jealous of their ‘free’ time.
Some properties are by nature unstable and appropriate precautions should be taken when entering these properties.
Purchasing property is a serious proposal. It is a good idea to consider carefully whether to bring all other stakeholders (children, siblings, parents, etc) for their opinions and advice or whether to minimise the potential distractions and confusion, allowing yourself to concentrate fully.
The choice of where you wish to stay whilst here on the viewing trip is entirely yours. If you have already been to Sicily on holiday then you might have a favourite place or we are happy to help you find somewhere. Depending whether you want a centrally located place such as a hotel or a tranquil agriturismo, the classes of accommodation are blurred in Sicily, with some agriturismo's and locanda's which should by rights be basic accommodation, actually being sumptuous. Also Italian public holidays, religious festivals, sporting occasions and so on can all influence availability; we will be able to guide you around these problems.
As we know the weather in Sicily is excellent, but it might still cause problems and with the possible nature of the properties, sensible clothes and shoes might be warranted.

We try our best to keep to appointments as we know how frustrating it is for people to be late or even worse not turn up, especially as we might have had to liaise with the property owner or another third party. If you think that there is going to be a problem, we ask that you please let us know beforehand.
